Forgot to include a disclaimer which I go back and edit once I am home (for some reason editing a post on my IOS does not work...).
Any/all data to include roms and programs downloaded will not be present once you update the firmware, consider it along the same lines of wiping a computer with a fresh image of the OS. So save your data, also, don't be like me and forget your google account info... I had to re-download the EPSXE emulator, not an ordeal of any kind, yet it was the preverbial walk of shame that I forgot. Going to download the retroarch all-in-one emulator and see if that fares better then my loved EPSXE. My unit has some airborne operations to conduct so I may be out of the loop until the weekend. My wife still wonders why anyone would jump out of a perfectly good airplane while in flight for only a $150 extra a month with equipment made by the lowest bidder and out together by people trained with barely a high school diploma ha ha ha

Day 13 of Usage:
Having an enormous trouble trying to get the device to register it being connected to wifi. I can disconnect from my house's Wifi by turning it off, and/or by forgotting the network which allows me to once more input the wifi password. In doing so, I re-connect once more where the device tells me I am connected at X speed to my home wifi (which is literally no more then 3 feet away with nothing in between the router and the unit). However whenever I try to open up google play, it will not link up and after roughly 30 seconds I am prompted with a message that there is no internet connection. Upon trying to imitate the problem just now as I type, the device turns me into a mouth breather and finally connects..... I find it strange the device becomes extremely tempuramental when trying to connect at times when a slew of other devices connect and work through the wifi with no problem what so ever. Annoys me to no extent that two iphones, two ipads (one 3g, the other strictly wifi), one macbook pro, and one Asus ROG laptop can connect effortlessly while this device does not. I unfortunately do no own any other Android devices so I am unsure if it is an issue with my wifi router and Android devices or problems with the device itself. The other related issue is how the connection will never break, however google play will at random time out for no apparent reason.
Battery Test Upcoming I noticed there is a signifigent difference when running various programs and battery sinkage. In that, I should create a set of variables in which to test out the following controls:
("Battery Saver Mode.") 1) Screen dimmed to it's lowest setting. 2) Sounds disabled.
("Happy Medium Mode") 1) Screen bright but not spotlight bright. 2) Sounds engaged to a comfortable level. (in otherwords, able to play a video game while sitting next the wife who is doing homework, and not get swatted with a pillow)
("Highest Settings Mode.") 1) Screen to it's fullest brightness. 2) Sounds enabled at as high as they could be. (without worry of damaging the speakers)
**SIDE NOTE** I intentionally engage the airplane mode on all of the three variable "modes," to use them in the testing.
Tests per mode: 1) downloading an application (large application of course, otherwise the tests won't prove even slightly accurate). 2) playing a benchmark emulator/rom ran from SD Card. 3) playing a "easy," emulator/rom ran from SD Card. 4) playing a video ran from local memory. 5) playing a regular game from local memory.
When complete I will test out what the device ACTUALLY does regarding battery standby and retention times. 1) standby mode (with applications not shutdown, ergo still running) 2) standby mode (with any/all applications shutdown that I can shutdown) 3) power off battery retention mode (how long will the device actually hold a charge powered off?)
**DISCLAIMER** I will only conduct each test (for time's sake) for a period of 10-15 minutes. The time will be recorded by stop watch in which after 10-15 minutes time I will do a battery measurement from time of start/stop to gauge the percentage of battery life loss per mode and per test. I will do simple math and simply convert the time of testing to the amount of battery life loss to do a bad average as to how much a person can honestly expect (and not in some controlled environment where the manufacturer can fenagle the results).

Forgot: I did manage to download Retroarch emulator (free I might add) from google play. My first test was on the PSX/PS1 emulator. Even without loading a bios into the emulator itself, this thing runs like a champ. I still saw a slight amount of lag, however it was not as much as ESPXE, although now that I have the updated firmware the test rom in question ran at 90-95% the Retroarch ran the same test rom at 95-100%. I must admit, I am very much impressed. I also found navigation slightly easier in regards to where the roms where located. I still am very leary of touch screen buttons in general as there is no physical force feedback to let you know you are mashing the right button weither you are actually intending to or simply tapping away furiously at a perceivably dead zone on the screen while you are going out of your mind that your Tiger Uppercut from Sagat in Street Fighter isn't landing as intended. Alas, each their own, and while this may seem one sided, I feel the same way about touch screens in general, even my IOS devices don't feel right to me overall.

Fun fact: Wife's old android phone AC charger works perfectly on the device, hooray for AC charging over USB!

Isn't it possible to map the physical buttons to the virtual ones?

It sure is, any with any amount of previous button mapping, the common knowledge is shared between them. By default, retroarch was already pre-mapped for physical buttons which I liked.

Day 14 of usage:
Found my 64GB SD Card, going to see if it will work properly in the device. Good news is that if it doesn't work, I can throw it in a GoPro camera which I will purchase later for other activities. No idea yet if 128GB will work however being able to get a 128GB to work will suffice for all emulations I can possibly do on this device (unless of course, someone makes a Dreamcast emulator then it is back to the drawing board with a 64GB). Should a Dreamcast emulator be made to work on this device AND the device is limited to a 64GB card then I'll have to run multiple cards otherwise play a bad game of musical chairs (well, roms but same premise) but alas this is all theory crafting as a DC emulator does not actually exist.

You are wrong on that front sir! A commercial DC emulator does not exist... but once upon a time there was a semi public beta...

I do apologize for the lack of postings recently, I have been studying like a mad man for a certification test that has not been going well. Next weekend I to do the battery testing as promised.
