Hey so i collected my s7300 first thing this morning and so far all i have been having a horrid time establishing an internet connection. I was planning to try out the difference between the jxd firmware and how much better the ncce firmware. I turned on the jxd and had a short play with it to get a feel for it. I then made my next stop to configure my wifi settings. I turned on the wifi, the s7300 finds my wifi address and shows it as having full strength signal, so i entered my password as you would usually do and clicked connect. Instantly upon clicking connect the wifi signal strength drops to one bar, and after a minute or so times out and shows failed. I assumed it might have been a problem with there being lots of other things also using the wifi at the same time, so i have disconnected all of my other devises and turned all their wifi connections off, then power cycled my router and turned the s7300 wifi back on, again i have full signal until i try to connect and immediately the signal drops to one bar and fails. I proceed to repeat a router power cycle a further 3 times to no avail. I now upgarde the s7300 firmware to NCCE V0.1B, again go through the same process as above and i still fail to establish a wifi connection. So i now update the firmware to NCCE V0.2B and again i still cannot connect to my wifi network. I now attempt to connect through an Ethernet connection. I opened up Ethernet and turned the slider from off to on, and then entered the Ethernet connection configuration. i manually entered my ip address, netmask, dns address and gateway address, save the changes and atemt to connect via the Ethernet connection again i am afraid to say this process was also unsuccessful. I am going to continue to try to establish a connection but i thought i would share my initial findings in here and see if anyone has any ideas which might aid me. I have come across one other user on dingoonity.org who has also experienced this issue however the thread is really short and it only has a couple of sugestions which i have already tried. And the user with the problem has not reported back on this issue for 6 days, so he has either given up on wifi, has given up on asking for help or has not bothered to report back how he resolved the issue. I will leave this masge here for a few hours and a similar post over on dingoonity and see if anyone has any ideas for me. And in the mean time will download apps via my phone and Titanium backup them over to the s7300 to start testing apps out in this fashion.

Ok, so still no luck with a direct link to my wifi, however i have been able to connect to my wifi network using my phone as a wifi bridge and connecting the s7300 to my mobile phone. So the problems obviously lie with my router, i am using a bt openreach modem and a sky router and have 80mb fibre-optic broadband. hope this helps if someone else has an issue and will try to establish a direct connection to the router again later.

I find the best way to test wifi is to use an outside connection like one in kfc or mcdonalds ive had connection issues in the past have went to my local pub or kfc and it connected no problem at least then you know its not your unit try a friends wifi that is not bt ie virgin or plusnet find them a hell of a lot better than bt

Hi Phelsumania this is where i can be a tiny bit of help whether it will work or whether it has been suggested/you've tried it but if you go into your router settings it could be the case of your router is firewalling your device you could find out the mac address of your jxd through your hotspot on your phone then run dmz mode on that mac address (in the routers settings) goto this in your browser 192.168.1.254 this will bring up your settings i would assume you will need your admin login and password like most bt routers this should be on that sticker you were given with your wifi password you got 2 i presume it is also on the router it self if you can't find them.

Ok folks for anyone else whe encounters this here is the fix to so you can directly connect to your wifi network (this might be obvious to some but i am not very technical with wifi routers i hate the damn things and usually let someone else sort them out for me)
1.Open settings on the s7300 2.Select wifi in wireless & networks 3.Click the + icon located at the top right handside of the menu 4.Manually enter the Network SSID (this is the network name e.g. SKY248B2,BTHomeHub2-9SHS,virginmedia90801008 etc) 5 Change security to whatever password protection type your router uses either WEP, WPA/WPA2 PSK,802.1X AEP or none 6.Tick show advanced options in the mini menu (under Security) 7.Change the proxy settings if you desire (i have left mine set to none for now) 8.Change the IP settings form DHCP to Static 9 Change the IP address to match your Router. If you dont know your IP type CMD into the search pannel (on windows) and open CMD, now type ipconfig/all (this will bring up a load of text, scroll back to the top of the window, the first paragraph should contain your routers IP address, the Gateway address, and the dns address) 10.Change the Gateway Address to match your Routers (you will find this out following the same process in the brackets above) 11.leave (dont touch) the Network Prefix length to the defult value 12.Change the DNS 1 Address to match that of your Router ( again this is discovered following the steps used in process 9 and 10 above) 13.OPTIONAL you can change your DNS 2 Address also if you wish but i left mine blank. 14.You have now reached the bottom of all the available options so click save.
Congratulations hopefully your S7300 should instantaneously connect to your wifi router and you now have a successful conection.
I have tried to Explain this in the simplest terms i can if anyone else buys a S7300 and is experiencing wifi problems and this does not belp please send me a p.m or post in hear and we will try to aid you as best as possible

Also the IP address you are getting people to enter in will cause a IP conflict as it is the same as the one on the computer. I highly discourage the use of static IP addresses on a portable device but in this case where your DHCP server is not issuing IP addresses you have no alternative I guess. At times the software side of the cheaper all in one router, access point, gateways crap themselves so I would try doing a power cycle on that to see if that resolves otherwise you may need to get someone more experienced with networks to come help you diagnose the problem.

I have the s7300b. I connected to my wifi, i even clicked on the status. It says im connected, excellent range, 150 mbps, and everything just appears to be working. But when I go to the browser, or google play store. The damn thing says it can make a proper connection to the internet, yet I am connected. WTF? ?? I updated firmware through JXD.hk, and still same issue. I have s5300 as well, and it has no issue connecting to my router, and I have full use of the browser on the s5300. Can someone please help!!! Was thinking of installing a custom firmware, but from what I have read in earlier posts, that might not work as well.

Hey way2real84, I would deffo get a custom firmware the stock firmware is an epic fail. However the custom fws come there own issues but they are miles better. I am currently having massive stability issues with the latest ncce fw so I am swapping back to skelrom, it has no way near as many fixes as ncce however it way more stable on my s7300B. Does your WiFi router support wps? I had loads of issues with WiFi but connecting through wps his sorted them all out. On my sky router the wps button is on the side of the router

I tried all the suggestions, but my wifi still not working. So, I think it is a "dead" wifi module. I tried different ways to turn On my wifi on JXD S7300B, but nothing. It is turning Off again and I can't press the " " button on wifi settings (its not working), also the blue led is turning Off after sometime and sometimes randomly turns On. I used "dmesg" command from Terminal and it shows "8188eu.ko" driver is working but wifi doesn't turn On. I opened the back of my S7300 and I found a little smd module called "Realtek RTL8188EUS". Also I tried "Settings> Accessibility> Device" test and selected wifi option: "---------Wifi info---------- checking wifi state...... wifi state:unknown Starting wifi..... wifi log:unknown wifi log:enabling wifi error Wifi Test Finish." I checked the power and the data channels, all okay. So I took my hot air soldering and detached from the mainboard and tried other little wifi - RTL8188CUS (little green usb wifi adapter). I soldered it directly to all power and data channels (like previous was). But it didn't worked so I tried to take out the 5V and the GND channel power supply from the otg micro-usb, it didn't worked. I think a "8188cus.ko" Android compiled driver is needed I will check the RTL8188EUS module on my PC with 3.3V supply (it can't run on 5V). If it works on my Ubuntu, then the wifi module is okay, but something wrong with my JXD S7300B mainboard. But if not works, then I have to buy one RTL8188EUS and solder it and check if wifi turns On. Here a video from other JXD console with the same problem (I just edited a little this video to show the main problem - wifi doesn't turn On): youtu.be/EfdUwcM8N-kIs not a wifi signal problem, because my JXD S601 and other Chinese devices can see my and my neighbors wifi signal. I hope someone will help me. Thanks! (sorry for my English)

BTW, I tried different firmwares (official and not), but didn't helped. JXD answered to my letter asking for a help with my wifi and they told me try different firmwares, but as I said - is not a firmware problem. (I bought it on dx). ------------------------------- I checked on both Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows XP SP3, my RTL8188EUS wifi module not working (defective). I will order a new wifi module (I found on one Chinese store rtl8188eus $8.80-12.85) and I will post here - helped or not.

Okay! I received the RTL8188EUS wifi module (I ordered the blue one for $12.25, but received the cheaper green one, which price is $8.85,not honest Chinese seller!). I soldered it to my JXD S7300B and after I turned it On, the wifi worked and it showed all the available wireless networks, including mine! I'm very happy that I manage to fix my S7300! Good luck to other users who have similar problems! Cheers!

Hi, check the channel of te router wi-fi signal. On te JXD s7300 the channel 13 doesn't work!!!! I had the same issue and the cause was this: my wi-fi channel set on 13.
