Hello everyone, My JXD 3700 arrived yesterday. I tried to download GTA 3 but it was apparently unavailable for my device. I saw that there was a firmware update available for the tablet so I thought installing it would allow me to download it. I downloaded the firmware update and unzipped it to my micro SD card. I turned the device on with the Volume + button held and installed the update. When the tablet restarted it just displayed a black screen. The green power light was lit but none of the other lights were. I have tried turning it on and off multiple times and pressing the reset button with a pin. I think it has "bricked" (I think that is the term). Can anyone help me to restore my tablet to how it was please. I really liked it and I wish I had never downloaded the firmware update . Matt

Was your tablet new when you bought it ? I ask because people have reported when their tablet have been updated with a 3rd party rom, then the newest factory update it applied, it will lockup and become unusable like yours. If yours was new then this wouldnt be the problem, only if it was used and a non-factory rom loaded be the previous owner.
Did you try these steps, from the upgrading.doc file ?
2. Abnormal Upgrading: For these situations: upgraded the DIY firmwares, black screen, can not boot, and so on.
Step 1. Making a specific TF card (Demo: specific TF card启动卡制作工具.avi) Through the SDcardMaker to realize it. (S7300-u-boot.bin is necessary) Run SDcardMaker.exe (Demo: specific TF card启动卡制作工具.avi)
Step 2. Forced cleaning the Flash 1. Copy file “aml_autoscript” into your TF card 2. Press “Vol +”, then press “Power” at the same time. It will take a few seconds (It should be stayed at JXD logo picture, also possible to appear black screen)
3. If there comes out some words on the screen, it shows cleaning is successfully.
BTW: I would advise others not to use this latest update ( s7300_firmware_v2.1.1_0523_for-SD.rar ). I applied it to mine, now it is unable to read the sd card. I can not restore any of my backups saved to the card, if you open the storage option under setting, it crashes. It wont load the apps screens, it just sits loading forever. Now I have to reflash to an earlier version.

Thanks for the reply.
The tablet was brand new.
To be honest when I was applying the firmware update, I wasn't really sure what I was doing. I just thought I had to download the firmware (http://www.jxd.hk/download.asp?id=1178&selectclassid=020001), extract the files on the TF card and then just apply the update. I did read the S5110b Upgrade Steps.doc file but I never saw the Android robot when I booted up. I just saw a menu with options and then I chose the second or third option down I think.
I've seen the NCCE Custom Firmware, would I be able to install that on my device so it is at least usable?

It seems like the firmware in the link you posted is for a different model (S5110b) This seems to be the correct firmware: www.jxd.hk/download.asp?id=1177&selectclassid=020001In any case, I think you should try and flash either SXELROM or NCCE, don't bother with the stock firmware.

I had the same thing happen to mine as well. Brand new and I tried to apply the update for the S7300 from the same link you have listed. It brought up the JXD logo then went black. I tried the update from 3rd party ROM you listed as well without anything happening. All that happens is the green power light comes on. When connected to a computer it's listed as M6-CHIP.
I even installed the Android SDK, but neither fastboot.exe or adb.exe lists it as a connected device.
Has anyone had this problem and been able to bring it back, or is it toast?

Where can I get this upgrading.doc file? and does it list download links to SDCardmaker.exe and aml_autoscript? I already downloaded certain version of SDCardmaker.exe but it gives some error in chinese so I can't get what's wrong with it. And I couldn't find the aml_autoscript file till now. Here's my issue in details: jxd7300.com/thread/120/bricked-s7300-black-screen-appearsWas your tablet new when you bought it ? I had the same problem with my s7300b and it is posible to fix it. First you need the Am logic buring tool 1.6.2.0128 or newer (the needed drivers is in the zip). www.mediafire.com/?38wf9paai5q9c8dthen you need a firmware for the burningtool. Here is a modefied TheXSample firmware ubuntuone.com/4IajlOjQyFnlFU5YiilUKF1, Click the "erase nand" box 2, Click the "no hub support" 3, got to file and import Update file 4, Klick start 5, when its successful remove the "erase nand" box 6, klick start 7, wait On one tablet i need to restart both the tablet and the program after step 4. I used Windows XP 32bit. Sorry for my bad english. /Dhuron

Hi, i purchased a JXD s7300b & changed to custom firmware XSample. But I'm now having wiring problems causing loss of audio & my otg port doesn't work either. Does anyone know if I need to renstall the original firmware before returning it for repair or if itd b OK jus to leave the custom firmware on it.? Also is it bad to go back to the stock firmware cos iv read that it may cause a black screen issue? Any help would b appreciated. Thnx

I think even if you return to the original FW, they can see that you JB it. I dont think many manufactures and store will accept that

I have the same issue. When trying to install xsample firmware, the screen stucked on JXD logo. Then i reset the device and when i'd go to settings/storage it closed and said tere were an error. But, when i removed th sd this problem did not appeared anymore. The other problem was that the device didnt shut down.
I try to reinstall the official firmware (v2.2.3). Did not work.
Then i tried "bobjr94" post. I copied "aml_autoscript" file to sd and pressed Vol + and power. After that, the device doesn't power on anymore. I think it was because an error that has ocurred on step 1. Then, i think it has caused some crash on flash or something... Now, neither the jxd logo appears.
I tried "Dhuron" post too, but it didn't work.
Does anyone have an idea??
Sorry for my bad english...

The problem was that the SD card maker was not working. So, i research a lot untill i found someone telling to run sd card maker as administrator. Done! So, the right think to do when something goes wrong with your device, like not boot, black screen, etc is follow the steps mentioned in "bobjr94" post. Just remember to run the SD card maker as administrator, and after step 2 (cleaning the flash), install the firmware. In my case, i installed the original firmware (v2.2 available on the jxd website), then i installed the skelrom xsample v3.0. My device is fine now!
