Has anyone else had a problem with the secondary shoulder buttons not working in n64 emulation? I was excited to play extreme-g and much to my disappointment I couldn't fire. I believe it is supposed to be the z button as it doesn't work for Mario 64. Tried remapping the buttons to no avail and when I tried mapping to l2 or r2 it said unrecognized. Any hints for a solution?

Hi there modder83, what emulator are you using? there could possibly be a plugin that you may need to have that could get the buttons to be recognised unfortunately i am unable to give you much help as i have yet to get my hands on the JXD handheld i will ask the moderator sony as he appears to have quite a bit of knowledge i'll also ask phelsumania for you welcome to the forums

The stock emulator that came with the 7300. I'm sure if I use another emulator I can map the keys. It's just frustrating buying a device that doesn't work as advertised without having to do work arounds. Mine has also been freezing with regular android games... Even after the update. Wish Skelton was still working on custom roms

Hi modder83 sorry to not get back to this sooner ive been swamped at work this week. completely agree its aggravating when you purchase a product and it doesn’t quite work out the box as specified, there was the suspicion this might happen which is why the forum was created, obviously as more people obtain the S7300 the support available should greatly increase. i am afraid i probably will be no use at this moment in time as my unit is not due to arrive until tomorrow or Friday. But you have my word the first thing am gonna do is have a look into the n64 button mappings for you. I don’t want to sound patronising here but i assume the l2 and r2 triggers are working and its just on the n64 you are experiencing an issue with them? Also am not sure of this again because i don’t have the unit to hand but what n64 emulator comes pre loaded out of a matter of interest? with out knowing what emulator your using and whether your l2/r2 buttons work on other apps, i can only suggest that there is a possiblity the keycodes of your s7300 are not matching the l2 and r2 on the n64 emulator. Which would explain everything else working but not those 2 buttons. If this is the case depending on the emulator there should be a way to manually change this. Or a fresh install should reset the keycodes so they match your s7300 buttons. I appreciate you wanted something which ran straight out the box but hopefully if it is a keycode issue it will be a fast and easy fix.

It's n64oid...If I download it separately I can do on screen key mapping I'm sure. I just didn't want the on screen buttons. Also I downloaded snes9x and that program is crashing on boot

It's true "could get the buttons to be recognised", yeah, the emu know that you play the button when assign, but say's: key unrecognized or something like that. It's a shame, beacause i really like to enjoy some game with meny commands. It's also be good could make a virtual button in the touch screen of the real button of the console emulated, it would be awesome just touch over a gun icon and change weapon, ha.

The L2 and R2 are physical buttons. Maybe N64oid will support them some day. So far the best way to play n64 on the device is with the buttons mapped to the touch controls. If you don't map them this way then the left analog stick cannot tell how far you press it, just that you do press it (mario always runs). If you map it, you can get mario to walk and even tiptoe. When mapped the left stick has 8 degrees of intensity in 360 degrees of rotation. If you don't map it you have 2 degrees of intensity (on or off) and 8 directions.
The device's controls could use improvement. But the L2 and R2 buttons are set up correctly. n64oid doesn't take advantage of them yet.
