Well I am still waiting for my unit to arrive, hopefully it will be here in the next couple of days. so i can not participate in this yet. But i was wondering for those who have got theres what have been your first impressions and would you like to leave a review for any potential future buyer. i know there have been plenty of reviews directly from sellers of the S7300 but i find customer reviews are usually alot more reliable and tend to contain the information potential buyers are interested in. So far the only Customer videos ive seen are: URSquadOps review - www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkTTQPHx1ycStephan Walters review - www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ttR55PXeLsCcoolty (Member of the dingoonity.org boards) Review - www.youtube.com/watch?v=tigsgsX04tgKoKuTanLuFi mario 64 review - www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeJi-EdYNIwSammy Lopez CPS2 review - www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BbIRsCXAfQLook forwards to hearing what the first lucky owners impressions of there new s7300 are

So far, I am not impressed. JXD either needs to release their sources for the firmware, or someone needs to come up with a custom ROM. The default software is outdated, pirated and way too buggy. There are many apps that crash or just plain refuse to run. I haven't been able to emulate a SNES ROM at any kind of decent speed so far -- ironically, epsxe has emulated just about every PS1 game I've thrown at it pretty well.
The hardware is solid, and I like it a lot but the software leaves a LOT to be desired. It's somewhat usable in the default state, but hopefully the software matures.

Owch, thats never good, i suspected this might be the case but i was really hoping jxd would have sorted the software issues out with the latest model, obviously not. There is a couple of custom roms out there which i want to test out when i get the s7300 and there is a custom kernel as well, both from very reliable developers, i have not linked it up yet becasue i would like the developers permission to do so first i have emailed them so hopefully i will have it up on here soon if you have not come across them yet. I can pm you the info if you have not come across it yet.

I haven't seen any custom software yet, but I would love to try it! A link would be greatly appreciated!
I also have two servers in the USA that I would be willing to use to host developers projects relating to this stuff.

Great piece of hardware, unbelievably powerful. Really expected it to be laggy with GTA3 and Vice City, but performs flawlessly. The included emulators were a great attempted, but just lacked rudimentary things, such as a Z button for the N64 emulator.
Yes, I've installed custom software to get it to run. Grand Theft Auto wasn't compatible with it, or even in the Google Play store at all (not sure how they managed to "hide" it actually...) but with the NCCE firmware, it not only shows up, but runs great, no noticeable lag.
The thinness, while pleasing in most ways, does become a downside when you feel the unit heat up, as it gets warmer than most people's comfort level I would imagine. Not hot, just annoyingly warm. Might be a plus on a cold day though.
Mine came with a single frozen pixel =/ But given the horror stories from some people with much more serious problems with their units, I'd rather deal with that than send it back and risk getting a worse one.
Since I installed the custom firmware, I haven't installed any emulators, but I imagine it won't be much of an issue.

Have you tried dead pixel recovery apps? There are a few of them and they have good results.

I'm a little concerned with the mapping of the N64 video that's shown in the links from the OP. The reviewer comments how the analog stick is acting purely as a D-Pad and he can't get Mario to walk. This would end up being a deal breaker for me if they can't emulate a true analog stick. Anyone have any insight as to whether or not it's a problem with the hardware of how the analog stick was made, or possibly just a software issue? Unfortunately I won't be buying one now until I know for sure if the N64 analog stick can be emulated properly.

Reports are in that the hardware is analog, but software maps it as (and pairs it with) the left D-Pad. On a side note though, when using android games, I can see exactly how the stick is responding based on my movements, and have never felt any major limitations between that and a true analog stick (other than the fact that it's a slider and not actually a stick, but that's just a preference). It will register all d-pad functions, diagonal and in between directions, and intensity (how far in any direction you're moving the stick).
With that said, I have no problem getting Mario to walk, run, move, or anything else using these controls. And my statements are based on NCCE .3b firmware, not entirely sure how stock software will do as I only had it for moments before uninstalling it.

Awesome, so you're saying the issue has already been resolved by using one of the alternate firmwares. Great!! Was really worried about that lol...

Yep this issue was short lived, i went straight to a custom rom and never had a problem getting mario to walk and performing percision movements, and I must say n64 performance completely exceeded my expectations, it runs the n64 better than my gallaxy note and has a greater compatibility of working/playable games. As everyone says above the s7300s hardware is better than many expected the big issue is Jxds hacky rubbish software and this has always been there downfall they could have a collection of awesome consoles if they just bothered to sort the is out, I can not understand that if they were going to use a hacky software is why they didn't just use cyanogenmod or something to this effect as standard, it would really bring the console to life. But instead they have used there own half baked attempt at a ROM. I have full confidence within the next 6 months someone will crack this beast and eventually all issues will be resolved, its just a case of playing a waiting game now and slowly tweeking bugs out the system.

Word. The latest NCCE v0.3b firmware rocks and makes this a usable device.
Showed it off to folks at work and they were impressed, as am I still!

Had mine for 2 weeks .just stumbled across this forum and upgraded the stock rom. I'm a bit of a newbie with android but this was very easy to do thx to the guides here and has made this device a lot better. Mine came with a broken USB cable but the analogue sticks are fine unlike some other people's I have heard about. Battery life seems pretty reasonable and doesn't feel too flimsy which where a couple of things I was worried about. Only small problem I have Is that it has to be held at a certain angle or the screen goes dark but for the price I can hack that. All in all pretty good I'm happy

Here is my review:
1. Runs better than the jxd7100b, but could even be better 2. Right stick is sluggish. 3. N64 apps run like crap 4. Battery gets hot, and battery life doesn't seem as good as 7100 5. Built in Firmware is rubbish. NCCE 1.0 is great! 6. Not bad for it's price, its cheap Chinese crap so my expectations are too high!

Here is my review(I like last poster style):
1. Haven't had ANY issues 2. Analog sticks(sliders...) are kinda crap 3. I Like playing emulated games with it 4. Most android games suck 5. Runs well as tablet if you like to watch series 6. Not bad, but not worth 165$...
