Well i hope this is something which no owner ever has to do because something has broken or is not working properly, But here is a video from ratbuddy1 taking you through a step by step demonstration on how to remove the back panel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ9fGSR4l_o

Great to see it's so easy to get at the insides of this unit.
I'm an electronics tech myself, so one of the first things I'll be doing when mine arrives is inspecting the analog sticks to see how well they are soldered in and if they require any padding behind them.

I all wanna know that. I don't know anything about soldering. When you have it, ca you say if it need padding?

Good shout isaias, if you wouldn’t mind reporting back what your findings are if you do open it up, it would be nice to here what someone with a electronics tech background thinks about the build quality. Dont feel obiged to go out your way though if you dont want to open it up.

Build quality seems good on this device. Not great, but the construction seems fine.
With the amount of heat the system generates I would have thought they'd put beefier cooling in it.
Putting more effective cooling into this might be the mod I pursue.

I'm going to clean it up and add some thin sheets of silicone around the heatsinks after I am done testing temps. I plan to install a fan to see if it helps any. May just work on taking the thing down on voltage.

hey guys, one of the first things that I noticed when playing games on this device was how hot I could feel it getting I didn't want to go as extreme as the post above so I decided to use a 1.2 mm thick piece of aluminium that I could get from work, it has very good heat conducting properties and is very light so you wouldn't really notice a weight difference, I had to make a cut out around the battery as when I tried to put the back casing back on, it would go on but when I looked at the screen I could see pressure points when the battery was pressing to hard against it from the inside. but now it fits fine and I can put the case back on and nobody would ever know it was fitted I tried to make it as big as possible so it would dissipate the heat better. now it doesn't get as hot when playing games and when it does warm up its more spread across the device and not just to the left where the gpu/cpu is
