Glad to see there are a couple of firmwares to chose from in the other threads.
When I get mine, I'll no doubt be looking to flash to one or the other, for the improvements they no doubt offer.
Thought it would be useful if we had somewhere that revealed the downside of the S7300 ... its pitfalls ... where it perhaps could still do with improvements or just clear flaws in design.
The physical design looks solid, and I like the fact it has all shoulder buttons on the shoulders, unlike the Archos Gamepad which only has L1/R1 and has the L2/R2 on the front face, not as well positioned imo.
So what are the problems with the S7300 that you've discovered so far? Anything, from battery life to screen glare...
Not looking to get negative or knock the device already, just would be good to have any concerns in one place to take note. Perhaps even cross them off the lists as future updates may resolve issues.

The l1/l2 r1/r2 buttons are surprisingly comfortable to use i thought they looked like they wouldn’t work well in that position but it is actually quite comfortable and easy (i have quite large hands though) Main pitfalls are that there is a number of games don’t run however skeltons libraries have solved that for a lot of the main android games, but there is still work to be done in regards to compatability of apps. The screens locked to 50hz The button mapping some what leaves something to be desired. right nub is un-mappable and locked to the centre of the screen. And there are no save states so you have to map the controls every the you start a game There are numerous random crashes atm on both custom roms, personally i find skelrom suffers less frequent crashing compared to the latest ncce 0.3 rom but that could be down to me running directory bind maybe skelrom likes it more? with ncce 0.2 i didn’t have many crashes at all however that rom doesn’t have the same game library’s, there seems to be a split some prefer to use ncce some skelrom, there both great work considering how fast they were released, and are essential if you want to use your s7300.
other than that i can find a fault, the battery lifes good for a cheep tablet around 5 hours i consistently get, and mines never been out doors so not sure about glare but its great indoors

My only problem with this device is analog nubs getting "stuck" in corners(they just feel weird).I'm running NCCE 0.3b and all is working fine. I've only had like 2 crashes during a week of use(wifi didn't turn on, didn't display settings).
1 other "problem" - Can't view screen from bottom(only affects me when I'm watching some movie/serial in bed).
I love my 7300.

That sounds like the issue with my Archos Gamepad, the screen can be viewed quite well from all angles except tilting the top of screen away from you ... when you do that it goes far too dark to view. Strange thing is, tilting the bottom of screen away from you is fine. They should've just put the screens the other way up.
I'll unbox mine tonight, then will get one of these custom roms installed

In regards to the bottom of the screen are you referring to the bottom status bar which is constantly present? if so that can be made transparent when not in use in the panel settings. or does the bottom of your screen just not display?

Haha! Sorry, I think I explained my downfalls in a non-understandable manner. The first problem(with nubs) seems to be exactly same as your problem with the left nub. The second one is becose the screen has bad viewing angle from bottom. Nothing to do with the android statusbar.

It's heavy and it crashes T_T Software needs updating.
Other than that, it's amazing!

I like it for gaming, but wouldn't want to have it for my main device.
It's been great to take to work for gaming/surfing during breaks, and the unit's low cost means I don't worry about it as much as I would carrying my "good" tablet around.
It's just going to be difficult to find a good carrying case for this thing!

I like the device for purely gaming. Though I am heartbroken that there isn't much if at all for the DC. I have an iPhone, an iPad, a gaming laptop, and a PC for home entertainment use (nothing more then a VGA connection to the TV to stream movies/TV). I have a PSP that I haven't used in years but nothing serious as it sits in a duffel bag in my garage with all the other army stuff the wife hates to let me keep in the house. I do wish I could play earlier PC games on it or less labor intensive (diablo series, and some older generation RTS's like command and conquer, etc) but it is no means a deal breaker and understandable since it runs an android OS and not windows. I do love the device for what it provides me and that is nostalgia gaming in a portable tablet. Great for late night duties, long trips of flight, and random meandering when the wife's honey-do list isn't piling up. Sure I can run nearly most of the same emulators from an iPhone/iPad but virtual buttons don't give me the feedback I yearn for when doing Ryu uppercuts and such. More so, pulling out my gaming laptop for emulation is overkill and time is another big factor in which I have little to play around with currently. While it would be awesome to be able to connect an external hard drive and play movies off of, that as well is not a deal breaker either. That being said, for a reasonably cheap tablet for nostalgia gaming I give it a pretty great rating limited only by the Storage limitations and the booty firmware it came with which was easily remedied.
