So I've had my jxd s7300 for a few weeks now and it has been a great handheld / misc android tablet.
A few weeks back my g-sensor stopped working. I didn't drop it or reflash it so I thought it was weird.
Tried the usual enable/disable auto rotate. Tried downloading a few applications to re-calibrate the g-sensor without success. Tried an application that tells you what sensors you have installed and it came up with g-sensor: not available.
Did a reflash to the rom hosted on the JXD website and still no go. Tried skelrom and ncce without success either.
Spoke to willgoo and they mentioned that they haven't seen it before but to wait and try a new rom that they and JXD are working on which will come out shortly.
Just wanted to get the opinion of the more experienced android guys here as I'm still relatively new to android.

i cant find the posts over on dingoonity now because everything is generally in the same place its hard to find thing searching throught a 100 pages of posts but i read a few other posts in the rom section that other users had this issue from day 1. I would suspect this will be a hardware failure e.g. the g-sensor becoming disconnected, rather than software otherwise you would have had this issue from the go, and everyone would have been effected if it was due to the software rather than just yourself and a few unlucky others. Also with the reported poor soldering on some of the units which were opened up, it makes me wonder what else was not correctly soldered or connected properly in some units. Ive personally never had an issue with the accelerometer in any of my android devises and I’ve been on android since 1.something, my first android devise was purchased back in mid 2009. Every now and then they needed re calibrating but never had one failing to respond

For the meantime i downloaded an application called orientation switch by coinsoft (for $1.49). This application allows manual control over the orientation of the device which i'm happy with at the moment. I don't honestly play any games that require the g-sensor so for me its not that big of a deal though ideally i would like it fixed. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinsoft.android.orientcontrol&hl=en

not much use to you now you have purchased an app, but the screen orientation can be set in the launcher settings of whatever launcher you have loaded. whether its the defult, apex or halo

Hi,
after one month of using the device my acceleration sensor died, too.
No function in Launcher and in games, too.
In other forums I heard of other users that have this issue.
So, your unit is black, right?

So, your unit is black, right? Nope my unit is white. Do you know if it is fixable? Or if people have returned to the retailer? Any info would be great. Thanks

Hi,
till now i only heard about black Units with this issue. WillGoo told me that the acceleration sensor could be exchanged, but i don't know where to buy the right one.
Most people say that sending the unit back would cost to much. Thats my oppinion, too. Sending back would cost 40€ from germany.
Now i am using the app "orientation switch", too. :-(

The same for me. G-Sensor worked for about 1 month, I didn't drop it. At one day it stopped, but reboot helped. Several days after, reboot didn't help, but sensor calibration app helped. And after few more days it finally stopped working. Applications even say "G-Sensor not found". Let's wait, probably somebody will find how to replace it yourself, where it is located inside and how to buy it.

ditto my G-Sensor has failed aswell now, This does not bother me entirely as i dont play games which use the G-Sensor and i have my screen locked to landscape view, which is why it has taken so long for me to notice the G-sensor was dead. The only downside i have had is i wanted to test the new real racing 3 game, however it requires you to tilt the screen left to get past the first menu, so if your G-sensor is faulty then it is impossible to start the game.

Thanks WillGo,
i have reported this issue to you when my g-sensor was dead. at that time you said that no one else had this issue so far.
Can you tell us, how many percent of the S7300 buyers have reported this issue till now?
I hope JXD will give us a solution for this.

I also have problem with g-sensor. After a month of work has stopped working in the operating system. Color black. Standard firmware JXD S7300B-01-V1.1-20130118. Test devices show that the sensor is working. In games, the sensor is working correctly. If the game turns the screen into a vertical position, the operating system can not get it back when you exit the game. Thanks for any help or advice.

Update firmware to official S7300B-01-V1.5-20130227 does not solve the problem with the g-sensor.

Hi willgoo, Is there any diagnostics, tests or reports that we can submit to yourselves or JXD to assist in this? I understand that as a retailer you can't do much from your end but would love to get this sorted as quickly as possible as it does not reflect well on the product.
